Available in BrightWork Reporter and Project Metrics, the Work Cache data source is designed as an alternative to work and issue reports that report across multiple sites. The Work Cache enables faster cross-site reporting. Before you first use the Work Cache it must be enabled.

Items from the following lists can be included in the Work Cache: Project Tasks, Project Goals, Project Issues, Project Risks, Project Change Requests, and Project Requests.

Timer Jobs

The Work Cache is maintained by two timer jobs:

  • BrightWork Work Cache Update Processing Timer Job (Every 15 minutes)
  • BrightWork Work Cache Refresh Timer Job (Daily)

To perform a manual refresh or to update the Work Cache see the following topic.

The BrightWork Work Cache timer jobs will skip any sites that are excluded from reports, such as closed or archived sites.

Using Views in the Work Cache

The Work Cache has Views that can be selected in BrightWork Reporter and Project Metrics. By default, the views provided filter work items by Open Work, My Work, or Issues.
